RONALD McDONALD HOUSE

In 1974, the first Ronald McDonald House opened in Philadelphia - today, there are Ronald McDonald Houses in 52 countries and regions, ranging from Northern DC to the Vatican!

Ronald McDonald House is an organization that aims to create, find, and support programs that directly improve the health and well being of children.  Many families travel far from home to seek treatment for seriously ill or injured children.  Whether this lasts a day, month, or longer, it's a long time to be away from a home or divide a family.  Ronald McDonald Houses enable families to stay in a "home away from home," while their child is undergoing treatment at a nearby hospital.

ADPi <> RMH

SInce partnering with Ronald McDonald House in 1979, ADPi has raised over $2million for the organization.  And at George Washington University, our sisters understand that writing a check is not the only way to offer support.  While we are committed to raising money for RMH, we also make an effort to visit the DC RMH once or twice each month.  During those visits, sisters cook dinners for families staying there, make cookies for siblings and children to decorate, and provide a friendly, smiling face.  These individual interactions have been some of our most memorable moments, and sisters look forward to visiting RMH every semester!

CURRENT RMH DC PROJECTS

The Ronald McDonald House of Greater Washington, DC is currently in the process of fundraising for their new house!  Not only will the new house be LEED certified (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), it will provide each family with a private bathroom, additional parking, an expanded playroom, and much more!

The Alpha Pi Chapter of Alpha Delta Pi is committed to fundraising for this project, and we hope you are too!  Click the "DONATE!" link on the left hand site to make a contribution to our fundraising efforts!
